CWC 2023: WATCH- Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Siraj's tearful moments after India's defeat to Australia

India lost to Australia in the final of CWC 2023.

Mohammed Siraj and Rohit Sharma with tears in their eyes | XIt was a tear-filled evening for Indian team and its fans as the Men in Blue were completely outplayed by Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final. The match was played in Ahmedabad on November 19 and saw the Pat Cummins-led side lifting the World Cup trophy for the sixth time.

India was asked to bat first by Australia and could only make 240 runs with KL Rahul (66) and Virat Kohli (54) being the top scorers. Mitchell Starc took three wickets, while Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood took 2 each.

In response, Travis Head (137) and Marnus Labuschagne (58*) added 192 runs for the  4th wicket to take Australia to the win. India had done well earlier, by reducing the opponents to 47/3, but Head and Marnus proved to be hard to dislodge and Australia won by 6 wickets.

The scenes after Glenn Maxwell hit the winning runs was heartbreaking for every Indian team fan and also for the Team India players.

Mohammed Siraj was seen crying with Jasprit Bumrah and other players consoling him on the field. India captain Rohit Sharma was seen wiping his tears as he walked back to the pavilion with his head down, trying to escape the cameras.
