Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh skipper, has flown back home to meet his mentor. Bangladesh have lost four matches on a trot after their initial win over Afghanistan in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.
Bangladesh have their next two games in Kolkata - against Netherlands on October 29 and Pakistan on October 31.
Meanwhile, Shakib, who returned in the match against South Africa after missing out on the India tie due to an injury, has traveled to Dhaka to train with his mentor Nazmul Abedeen Faheem. The rest of the Bangladesh squad has arrived in Kolkata.
Shakib arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon, after They lost to South Africa in Mumbai. He went straight to Shere Bangla National Stadium to work with Abedeen. The session lasted three hours with Shakib mainly taking throwdowns in the nets.

"He arrived today. We will be training for three days. Today, tomorrow, and the day after, and then he will return to Kolkata. We worked on his batting today. Shakib probably feels comfortable working this way I am not sure what we are going to do next - I will take each session as he wants,” Abedeen told ESPNCricinfo.
Shakib, who had an excellent outing in the 2019 World Cup in England, has been struggling with the bat in this edition. He has scored just 56 runs in four innings. He has taken six wickets too.
Shakib is scheduled to return to Kolkata on October 27, a day before the Netherlands game.
