Rohit is leading the Indian team from the front in the ongoing World Cup.

Rohit Sharma | GettyThe Indian cricket team is having a great time in the ongoing World Cup at home. Rohit Sharma and his men have won all four matches convincingly so far against Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Impressed with India’s campaign thus far, Australian legend Adam Gilchrist has lauded skipper Rohit for leading the team from the front.

Notably, Rohit has been spot on with his bowling changes and field placements. Moreover, the right-handed opener launches an attack on the opposition bowlers right from the word go.

"Something that I've been really impressed by, and I think he is really matured and peaking at the right time is Rohit Sharma's leadership and captaincy," said Gilchrist on the Club Prairie Fire podcast.

Rohit Sharma was appointed India’s all-format skipper last year after Virat Kohli relinquished T20I and Test captaincy and was sacked as ODI captain.

Under his leadership, India played the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, final of the World Test Championship (WTC) this year and recently clinched the Asia Cup title.

"Being the captain of India, particularly when you come on the back of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, is a tough job," Gilchrist stated.

"People questioned whether he should really be captaining India. But I think he has been maturing really nicely as a leader. It's the little things," he added.

Talking about Rohit Sharma’s batting prowess in the ongoing World Cup, he has been in scintillating form. While the captain fell for a duck against Australia, he played swashbuckling knocks of 131, 86 and 48 against Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively to script India’s emphatic victories.
