Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq were the biggest attractions during the 9th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 between India and Afghanistan in Delhi on October 11.

Well, everybody was aware of the infamous spat between Naveen and Kohli during an IPL 2023 match between RCB and LSG, and given that, fans were ecstatic to see the face-off between the two players at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

For the surprise of all, Kohli and Naveen decided to end their past bitterness and hug each other during the live match. The former Indian skipper even urged the Delhi crowd to stop taunting the Afghanistan pacer, and the pictures and videos of these moments are all over social media.

Former Indian head coach and commentator Ravi Shastri expressed his delight at the match between Kohli and Naveen, saying sportsmanship won at the end.

Ravi Shastri said on Star Sports: “It is part and parcel of sports. Let bygones be bygones and you got to move on with time. Time is a great healer. Sport teaches you to embrace a lot of things that may not go your way. It was great to see that and great to see it coming on the giant screen time and time again for the public to take notice of the fact that it is sportsmanship at the end of the day.”

Shastri signed off by saying, “In the heat of the moment, they might have lost their cool, words might have been exchanged and other people might have got into the mix that happens in sports. But to see what happened today was very good.

Six months down the line, they both realised that it could have been done in another way; let’s not take things to heart. If scores can be settled on the field for everyone to see, nothing like it.”
