CWC 2023: BCCI treasurer Ashish Shelar denies rumors of India's saffron-colored uniform against Pakistan- Report

India is donning blue colored uniforms in CWC 2023 designed by Adidas.

India's new training kit in Orange color for World Cup 2023 | XThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer Ashish Shelar has denied rumors of Team India donning special saffron-colored uniforms in their ICC World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan. This encounter will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.

Ever since India wore a Dutch Orange training kit since the beginning of the World Cup 2023, rumors began floating that they would switch to a similar themed uniform in the World Cup 2023.

Adidas, the new India team manufacturer had unveiled a special blue colored jersey featuring the three colors of the Indian flag on the three stripes on the shoulders.

Earlier on Sunday, some reports claimed that the Indian team will use an alternate kit against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which will be auctioned off later to collect funds for UNESCO.

But now, BCCI treasurer Ashish Shelar denied having any such plans and said the team would stick to wearing the blue kit that they are donning during their match against Australia on Sunday.

We categorically dismiss the media reports that Team India will be donning an alternative match kit against Pakistan. These reports are absolutely baseless and a work of someone’s imagination. The Men in Blue will sport India colors – Blue at ICC Cricket World Cup 2023,” Shelar was quoted by Indian Express.

There were instances of teams wearing two differently designed jerseys in the 2019 World Cup. Even India had worn a dark blue colored uniform with Orange details in their match against England. However such changes are only done with the approval of the ICC.
