Ahead of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir recalled India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli’s incredible knock in the T20 World Cup 2022 against the Men in Green at the packed Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MCG).

The dashing right-hander had played a majestic knock of 82* off 53 balls to pull off a famous 4-wicket win for Team India.

Recalling Kohli’s masterclass, Amir said that he was watching the former Indian captain’s hammering with Wahab Riaz and told him that until the king is there, the Men in Blue are still in the game.

Mohammad Amir was quoted as saying by Times of India: “Wahab Riaz was sitting beside me. When 48 runs were needed off 3 overs, I told Riaz 'India match haara nahi hai' (India hasn't lost the game yet). I told him 'Till the time Virat is there, India hasn't lost the match'. I guaranteed him that.”

Hailing Kohli, the former Pakistani pacer said that the word pressure is not in his cricketing dictionary, and he will be a dangerman for all the teams in the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

He added, “No batter in the world could play that miraculous knock, only Virat could. Virat is the only player who could take the game from that particular situation and turn it around, and he did. Riaz gave me a high-five after that match. The word pressure is not there in Virat's cricketing dictionary.”

Amir signed off by saying, “If you ask Virat, he will surely say that that knocvs.vs Pakistan was the best innings of his life. Virat will be a dangerman for every team in the World Cup. He is in top and red-hot form. His confidence is at another level at the moment.”
