Virat Kohli, who flew to Mumbai due to a personal emergency on September 30, reportedly hadn't joined his teammates in Thiruvananthapuram until late evening on Monday (October 2).

India will play Netherlands in a World Cup warm-up game on Tuesday in the city, and since their first warm-up against England was washed away in Guwahati, the hosts would like most of the squad to be in action, if the weather permits.

A team official who remained confident about Kohli's participation in the game, stated according to Cricbuzz, “He will be arriving soon and should be available for selection in tomorrow's game.”

The Indian team management had granted leave to the 34-year-old batting superstar after he requested to be allowed to fly to Mumbai due to personal reasons. He was expected to rejoin the side on Monday.

Meanwhile, India had an uninterrupted optional practice session on Monday, as the weather improved in the Kerala city. KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj, among others, had a two and half hour practice session.
