The hype for the Asia Cup 2023 tournament got bigger after the BCCI unveiled the 17-member India squad on Monday. The continental tournament begins on August 30th and will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

India have been placed in Group A with Pakistan and Nepal and will play their first encounter against Pakistan on September 2nd, while facing Nepal on September 4th, with both matches to be played in Kandy, Sri Lanka.  

India are the most successful team in Asia Cup history with 7 titles (6 ODI and 1 T20I).

Rohit Sharma was the Indian captain when Asia Cup was last played in 50-over format in 2018 and he had led the Men in Blue to title win, defeating Pakistan thrice in the tournament and getting the better of Bangladesh in the final in UAE.

The Indian squad will now assemble in Bengaluru for a 6-day camp and India captain Rohit Sharma jetted off from Mumbai airport and while leaving for Bengaluru, the Indian captain was told by paparazzi that fans are ‘waiting’ for Asia Cup.
