Shubman Gill moves to 4th spot in latest update of ICC ODI batting rankings

Babar Azam remained no.1 ranked ODI batter despite duck against Afghanistan.

Shubman Gill | GettyThe latest update for the ICC ODI players’ rankings was released on August 23, 2023, Wednesday and saw India’s Shubman Gill move to the 4th spot in batting rankings, while Pakistani opener Imam Ul Haq made a huge jump as well.

In the latest ODI rankings released by the ICC, Gill has got 743 rating points and is placed as India's top-ranked batter at the no.4 spot. Veteran India batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remained static at their 9th and 11th position respectively.

On the other hand, Imam Ul Haq’s half-century in Pakistan’s crushing win over Afghanistan in the 1st ODI, helped him jump 1 place to the no.3 spot behind Rassie van der Dussen, while Men in Green captain Babar Azam remains the no.1 ranked batter despite his duck in Afghanistan game.

In the T20I rankings, comeback man Bumrah, India's captain for the Ireland series, moved up seven places to reach the 84th position, and Bishnoi has jumped 17 spots to reach 65th.

Following his 58 in the second T20I against Ireland, Ruturaj Gaikwad moved up 143 places to reach the 87th position. Despite missing the Ireland series, Suryakumar Yadav remains in the top spot in the T20I rankings for batters.
