Brad Evans' diving catch denied Vaibhav Sooryavanshi his maiden international hundred in the third and final T20I between Zimbabwe and India at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday (July 26).

Sooryavanshi looked in his elements and it seemed that he will notch up his first three-figure score for India. However, Evans sprinted and plucked a stunning low catch with full-stretch dive at long-off in the 15th over off Wessly Madhevere's bowling to end the teenager’s sublime knock at 81 off 49 balls.

Speaking to broadcasters during the mid-innings break, Evans admitted that preventing the 15-year-old batting prodigy from scoring his maiden international century against Zimbabwe served as immense personal motivation.

“Obviously, big player and he is going to go on to do amazing things but I didn't want him to get his first hundred against Zimbabwe so I put in extra effort there," Evans said.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's knock propelled India to a formidable 192/5 in their 20 overs. In reply, the hosts were restricted to 157/7, giving the visitors a comprehensive 35-run victory.

With this result, the Shreyas Iyer-led sealed a 3-0 clean sweep in the T20I series after a tough assignment in the UK earlier this month.
