New Zealand thrashed Pakistan by an innings and 176 runs in the second Test.

Resuming their second innings on 8/1, Pakistan suffered yet another batting collapse against the Kiwi pacers.

Lanky pacer Kyle Jamieson once again wreaked havoc on the visitors, claiming 6 wickets for 48 runs to finish the game with 11 scalps. Left-arm pacer also displayed his class, taking 3 wickets for 43 runs in Pakistan’s second essay.

For the tourists, none of the batsmen managed to touch the 40-run mark in the second innings. Azhar Ali and Zafar Gohar were the joint top-scorer with 37.

Earlier, the hosts rode on skipper Kane Williamson’s marathon 238 to pile up a mammoth 659/6 (declared), taking a first-innings lead of 362 runs.

With this stunning victory, New Zealand inflicted 2-0 whitewash over Pakistan and also attained the No. 1 position in ICC Test rankings for teams.
