Former India women's cricket coach WV Raman on Friday (May 14) said that he doesn't want to talk about women's cricket any longer as his tenure as coach has ended.

BCCI on April 13 had invited application for the position of head coach of the India women's team for two years. A total of 35 applicants applied for the job.

BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee including Sulakshana Naik, Madan Lal, and Rudra Pratap Singh appointed Ramesh Powar as coach of the Indian women’s team. The former Indian off-spinner off-spinner has replaced WV Raman.

"Looking forward to seeing the girls soar under your guidance" WV Raman congratulates Ramesh Powar

WV Raman, who had taken over coaching duties in December 2018, helped the Indian women’s team to reach the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2020.

Addressing his end of tenure, WV Raman took to his official Twitter account and said that he doesn’t want to talk about women’s cricket as his tenure has ended.

"So, to wind up this @BCCIWomen episode, I would like to inform my friends in the media that I have no inclination to talk about women's cricket as my tenure has ended.. So, I solicit your cooperation, friends," WV Raman Tweeted.

Ramesh Powar however, had earlier coached the Indian women’s team. The off-spinner’s first assignment as a coach would be in June-July this year as the women's team heads to the UK to play one Test, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
