Bangladesh and India played the final of the ICC U19 World Cup 2020 in Potchefstroom in South Africa. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first.
India managed just 177 runs in 50 overs, as Bangladeshi bowlers kept them under pressure, which never let the Indian openers get off on a positive note. They took the approach of safety first and it cost them when the time came to score runs in the last few overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with 88, while Tilak Varma made 38 and Jurel made 22.

Avishek Das picked 3/40, while Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Sakib picked two wickets apiece.
Bangladesh knew they needed to keep wickets in hand and Parvez Emon (47) and Akbar Ali (43*) kept the innings going despite Ravi Bishnoi picking 4/30 and Sushant Mishra picked 2/25. Bangladesh reached the revised target of 170/7 and won the match and the World Cup trophy by 3 wickets due to the DLS method.
This is their first triumph at the ICC world stage in the history of cricket. The cricket fraternity enjoyed their success on Twitter, while also praised the Indian team for very good performance throughout the tournament and also comforted them via their tweets.
