The cricketing world was once again left debating whether "Mankading" as a legal form of dismissal fits the bill as far as spirit of the game is concerned after Afghanistan U-19 spinner Noor Ahmad ran out Pakistan opener Mohammad Huraira while backing up too far in the quarter-final of the U-19 World Cup 2020 at Willowmoore Park, Benoni on Friday (January 31).
The incident happened during the 28th over of the run-chase where the Pakistan U-19 eventually prevailed by six-wicket to secure a place in the semi-final.

Ahmad dislodged the bails and went up in appeal along with the rest of his teammates before the on-field umpire put the onus on the television umpire to clear the matter. As it turned out, Huraira was given out on 64 to send the social media in frenzy where many cricket experts weigh in over the issue and gave their views on the fairness of it all.
