After beating South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final last Saturday (June 29), the Indian cricket team was left stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl.

The adverse weather condition had forced the authorities to shut down air travel, resulting in the Indian contingent staying indoors in their hotel for three days.

With the weather finally clearing in Barbados, the Men in Blue left the Caribbean shores on Wednesday (July 3) and landed in Delhi on Thursday (July 4) morning.

After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital, Rohit’s Sharma men travelled to Mumbai for an open-bus parade.

Upon their arrival at Mumbai airport runway, the World Champions received a unique welcome. The flight carrying the Indian players and support staff members was given a water salute.

The victory parade kicked off at 5 PM and it will conclude at 7 PM, following which BCCI will organise a prize distribution ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah will hand over the staggering prize money of Rs 125 crore to the Rohit Sharma-led side for ending India’s long-standing ICC trophy drought.
