PM Narendra Modi hosted the T20 World Cup 2024 champion Indian team at his residence in Delhi for breakfast on July 4, 2024. The Indian contingent landed in Delhi early morning and after resting for a while at a hotel, made way towards the residence of the PM.
PM Modi congratulated the T20 World Cup-winning team during the hour-long meeting. The T20 World Cup-winning Indian team arrived at No. 7, Lok Kalyan Marg at 11 am IST.
According to India Today, PM Modi pushed the team to go on a title-winning binge, expressing optimism that the T20 World Cup victory in Barbados will inspire them to perform well in future competitions.
In a video, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian cricket team players are seen laughing while reminiscing about the World Cup campaign. As the players sat with the Prime Minister, Rahul Dravid, the head coach, also spoke. PM Modi smiled throughout the video, obviously enjoying the players' anecdotes. Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya all spoke at the meeting.
“An excellent meeting with our Champions! Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, LKM and had a memorable conversation on their experiences through the tournament,” PM Narendra Modi posted on X.
Not only this, the BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah gifted the Prime Minister with his own customized Team India jersey with ‘Namo 1’ written on the back.
“The triumphant Indian Cricket Team met with the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji, at his official residence today upon arrival. Sir, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for your inspiring words and the invaluable support you have provided to #TeamIndia. Jai Hind,” BCCI posted.
Not only did the PM and the BCCI post on social media, but several members of the Indian team including Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and more posted on X to thank the Prime Minister for hosting them.
