Pakistan were left embarrassed at the hands of Zimbabwe on Thursday (October 27) after suffering a shocking 1-run defeat at Perth in Match 24 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bat first and could only muster up 130/8 in their 20 overs as Mohammad Wasim Jr. (4/24) and Shadab Khan (3/23) bowled terrific spells for Pakistan. Sean Williams with 31 was the top-scorer for his team.
Pakistan, in reply, appeared to be coasting at 88/3 in the 14th over despite losing Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan cheaply, but thereafter lost their way, as the equation came down to 22 off two overs and 11 off the final over.
Brad Evans held his composure to concede just 9 and helped Zimbabwe to seal a famous 1-run win over Pakistan, and further jeopardise their semi-final hopes after a similar last-ball defeat to India.

The cricketing world lauded Craig Ervine and his team after their victory, and President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, also tweeted to congratulate them along with a cheeky dig at Pakistan citing 'Fake Mr Bean' who has been talked about a lot in the last 24 hours.
The President wrote, “What a win for Zimbabwe! Congratulations to the Chevrons. Next time, send the real Mr Bean…”
For those unaware, pictures and videos of a fake Pakistani Mr. Bean, who recently visited Zimbabwe, went viral on social media after a Twitter user from Zimbabwe brought him to notice while warning Pakistan about the revenge that his team will inflict on them in their clash.
