A shocked Babar Azam watches from the dressing room as Pakistan loses by 1 run | TwitterFormer Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar came down heavily on the Pakistan team for their loss to Zimbabwe in the recent T20 World Cup 2022 match in Perth on October 27, 2022. The Men in Green suffered a 1-run loss to Zimbabwe.

Set 131 to chase, Pakistan only managed 129/8 with Shan Masood making 44 and Mohammad Nawaz making 22 runs. Openers Mohammad Rizwan (14) and Babar Azam (4) failed to come to the party again as Zimbabwe bowlers made good use of the bounce offered by the Perth wicket.

Sikandar Raza picked three wickets and Brad Evans took two, including bowling an amazing last over.

Earlier, thanks to 31 from Sean Williams and captain Craig Ervine’s 19 runs, Zimbabwe made 130/8 in 20 overs after choosing to bat first. Mohammad Wasim Jr picked 4/24 and Shadab Khan took three wickets as well.

However, the loss, Men in Green’s second in the Super 12 stage after losing to India on the last ball as well, has broken many hearts in Pakistan and one of those was of Shoaib Akhtar.

He posted a short video on his Twitter account saying:Very very embarrassing. Really embarrassing. Aur select karo average log. Aur select karo average team management and average PCB. This is the outcome. (This is the outcome of selecting average people, team management and average PCB) I am really super super disappointed. And we are losing against Zimbabwe now.

Ab qualify bhi badi mushkil se lagega, with permutation and combination (Now it will be very hard for Pakistan to qualify for semis as well). Why you put yourself in such a position. And that's why I had said in a video 2 months back, that you keep selecting average people and you get average outcome.”

Apart from this Shoaib Akhtar also tweeted showing his disappointment with the Pakistan team’s performance.
