India will take on Netherlands in their second Super 12 match at SCG on October 27.

India defeated Pakistan in their opening match | GettyTeam India opened their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with a nail-biting four-wicket victory over arch-rivals Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday (October 23).

Having earned a crucial two points, the Men in Blue on Tuesday (October 25) travelled to Sydney, where they will play their second Super 12 match against Netherlands on October 27.

After reaching Sydney, the Indian players haven’t had a pleasant time when it comes to their choice of food.

According to a report published in The Indian Express, Rohit Sharma and company boycotted the lunch as they felt it was cold and insufficient.

The dressing room menu included fruits, falafel and ‘make your own sandwich’, which was not liked by the Indian cricketers and they reportedly expressed their displeasure to the concerned official at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

“The food was not up to the mark. We can’t have a sandwich after a practice session,” The Indian Express quoted a member of the Indian squad as saying.

The Indian cricket team also had an optional training session after landing in Sydney on Tuesday afternoon.

As per the report, skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Hooda were in attendance at the optional practice session.

The team management reportedly gave a rest to fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh along with spin all-rounder Akshar Patel.

While some players consumed falafel at the ground, the rest decided to have food back at the hotel.
