T20 World Cup 2021: David Warner dedicates Player of the Tournament award to family

Australia's batting star David Warner wins the Player of the Tournament award for his consistency throughout the T20 World Cup 2021. He ended up as the second most run-getter in the tournament after Pakistan's Babar Azam.

Warner dedicated the award to his family and posted a picture of himself on Instagram. "Wife, Ivy, Indi, Isla this is for you ????????❤️❤️???????? #family #cricket @candywarner1 love you all!! #rock," the post read.

The Aussie opener scored 289 runs in seven innings at an average of 48.16 which included three half-centuries. He ensured Australia get a good start in both the knockout matches of the tournament with his crucial knocks.

While chasing 177 runs in the final, Warner scored 53 off just 38 deliveries. Australia didn't lose momentum even after his dismissal as Mitchell Marsh scored 77* off 50 deliveries, which included 6 fours and 4 sixes, and they won the match by 8 wickets.

“Always pumped, wanted to put on a spectacle. There were some nerves around as always in a final but great to see the guys deliver," Warner said after the win.
