Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was once again effective with the new ball against Afghanistan on Friday (October 29). Overall, he picked up one wicket in his four-over spell and gave away only 22 runs.
After the match, Shaheen was questioned about bowling with the new ball in the press conference. A journalist asked what was going into his mind when captain Babar Azam gave him the new ball after losing the toss.
Shaheen responded to the question and said, "Wo toh mujhe har roz ball dete hain (He gives me the ball everyday)". His response soon went viral on social media and fans couldn't stop laughing.
Pakistan are currently at the top of the points table in Group 2 of the Super 12 with three back-to-back wins. They defeated Afghanistan by 5 wickets and 6 balls left.
Asif Ali turned out to be a hero for Pakistan once again as he scored 25* runs off 7 deliveries with four sixes. Pakistan needed 24 runs in the last two overs and Ali smashed 4 sixes in the penultimate over, bowled by pacer Karim Janat.
