Former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir has predicted the winner of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 clash between India and Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai.

The much-anticipated clash of the T20 World Cup 2021 is just a night away from now. Virat Kohli-led Team India will cross swords with Pakistan in their first match of the mega event.

The clash between the two cricketing heavyweights will see India and Pakistan facing each other for the first time since Cricket World Cup 2019 and it will hold extreme importance for both sides considering the history and tension between the nations.

While the Virat Kohli-led side would be looking to maintain their unbeaten record against Pakistan in the World Cups, the Babar Azam-led side would be looking to create history and defeat the Indian Cricket Team for the first time in World Cup.

Former left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir ahead of the much-awaited clash said that one cannot predict the winner in T20 cricket but Team India will have edge over Pakistan as they recently played IPL in the same conditions. He predicted match result 60-40 in favour of the Virat Kohli-led side.

"To be honest, you cannot predict much in T20 cricket. As far as India vs Pakistan is concerned, you can say that India are unbeaten against Pakistan until now but you can't really decide anything in a T20 match.

“But I will give India the edge because their players recently played the IPL here. So, they know the conditions better than Pakistan. The prediction for me will be 60-40. 10 percent I will give India,” Mohammad Amir said on show Uncut.

Amir admitted that clash between India and Pakistan is always a high-pressure game but Babar Azam is leading from the front which is a big plus point for Pakistan.

He added that ‘Men in Green’ are slightly stronger in batting than India because Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were struggling in the IPL, which will put them under pressure.

“India vs Pakistan is always under pressure. Babar is leading the team and is performing well. This is a plus point for Pakistan. His pair with Rizwan is doing well. Pakistan's batting is not doing too badly to be honest.

“Earlier, we used to say that it was about Pakistan's bowling up against India's batting. But now I feel Pakistan's batting appears slightly stronger because Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were struggling in the IPL. So, they will be under a bit of pressure,” he said.

Notably, Team India won both their warmup games while Pakistan failed to defend 187 against South Africa in their second warmup game. It would be interesting to see who among the arch-rivals will have the last laugh in tomorrow’s encounter.
