Indian team's white-ball vice-captain Rohit Sharma on Wednesday (September 29) issued a ‘war cry’ as the opener declared that ‘Team India’ is coming after the T20 World Cup 2021 Trophy and will give their best to win it.
Taking to Instagram, Rohit recalled the triumph of the Indian team in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa, which he was also part of and contributed with some important knocks.
Rohit wrote, “Sep 24th, 2007, Johannesburg. The day when a billion dreams came true.
Who would have thought back then that a relatively inexperienced, young team like ours would end up creating history!! It's been 14 years since, we've come a long way, we've created many more histories, we've had our setbacks, we struggled, but it didn't break our spirits. Because we never give up. We give it all!!!

India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign with a much looked forward to clash with arch-rivals Pakistan, after which they will play New Zealand, Afghanistan and two qualifiers.

Rohit Sharma will be deputy to Virat Kohli, for whom this tournament will be the last time he leads India in T20Is. Rohit is expected to take over the T20I captaincy from Kohli after the tournament with another T20 World Cup scheduled in Australia in 2022.
