Cricket fraternity reacts to the postponement of T20 World Cup 2020

ICC made the inevitable call during the IBC Board meeting on July 20.

ICC Men's T20 World Cup won't happened this year due to COVID-19 pandemic | AFPThe International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday (July 20) confirmed that the Men's T20 World Cup will not take place this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

During the IBC Board meeting (the commercial subsidiary of the ICC), the apex body made the inevitable call to postpone the showpiece event.

According to a media release by the ICC, the board members have also decided the windows to conduct the next three men's global cricket events.

The windows for the Men’s events are:

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be held October – November 2021 with the final on 14 November 2021

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be held October – November 2022 with the final on 13 November 2022

ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will be held in India October – November 2023 with the final on 26 November 2023

Australia was slated to host the T20 World Cup 2020 from October 18 to November 15. And now it is speculated that the BCCI will use this window to accommodate the 13th edition of Indian Premier League, which currently remains suspended until further notice.
