After conceding the first innings lead of 7 runs, Kiwi bowlers pulled things back in the second essay by dismissing the visitors for a paltry 124.

The veteran pace duo of Trent Boult (4/28) and Tim Southee (3/36) once again wreaked havoc on the Indian batting line-up by claiming seven wickets between them.

It was a listless batting performance from the No. 1 Test side as none of the batsmen even managed to touch the 30-run mark. Cheteshwar Pujara was the top-scorer for India in the second innings with 24 runs to his name.

Chasing 132 to win, New Zealand openers Tom Latham (52) and Tom Blundell (55) put on a 103-run stand to achieve the target comfortably.

Cricket experts on Twitter were highly impressed with Black Caps’ clinical showing throughout the series while they were critical of India’s lacklustre performance.
