The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Friday, May 9, 2025, confirmed that the remainder of the PSL 2025 matches have been postponed. This comes after their bid to relocate the PSL 10 to the UAE failed as their request was reportedly rejected by the Emirates Cricket Board.
PCB had even put out a post on X, confirming that remainder of the PSL will be played in Dubai.
The statement read: “The following fixtures will be rescheduled accordingly: Karachi Kings v Peshawar Zalmi, Peshawar Zalmi v Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United v Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans v Quetta Gladiators, Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2, and the Final. The exact schedule of matches, outlining the dates and venues, will be shared in due course.”
However, the PTI report stated that the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) is expected to reject the request by PCB as they are "vary of being perceived as an ally of PCB", which it believes the act of hosting the PSL may suggest.
"The Emirates Cricket Board has enjoyed a strong relationship with BCCI in recent years, having hosted the 'India' edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, editions of the IPL, as well as India matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Embarrassed by the failure to get the Emirates Board to host the rest of PSL 10 in the UAE, the PCB had no choice but to postpone the tournament. They confirmed the same in a statement on their website.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announces the postponement of the remaining eight matches of the HBL PSL X. The last 24 hours have seen a worsening of the situation on the LOC, increased incursion of 78 drones, and the firing of surface-to-surface missiles from India.
The decision to postpone has been taken pursuant to advice received from the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who has kept in view the reckless aggression from India that has escalated to a point where national attention and sentiments are rightly focused on the courageous efforts of the Armed Forces of Pakistan who are vociferously upholding the sovereignty of our beloved Pakistan,” the PCB statement read.
The statement also said that the PCB and its players stand resolutely in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and security personnel defending the nation.
“The PCB recognizes the efforts and support of its partners, franchises, participating players, broadcasters, sponsors, and organizers in having ensured the smooth conduct of the tournament thus far, however; cricket while being a unifying force and a source of joy, must take a respectful pause when the country is facing such callous opposition.
We, at the PCB, also have sincere regard for the mental well-being of participating players and the sentiments of our foreign players, and we respect the concerns of their families who want to see them back home,” the statement concluded.
Quetta Gladiators lead the PSL 10 points table with 6 wins and 13 points from 9 games, with Karachi Kings at second spot with 10 points and Islamabad United at no.3 with 10 points as well.
