Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav rise up in ICC ODI rankings after Champions Trophy 2025 win

Indian players Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav benefitted from brilliant performances in the recent Champions Trophy 2025 win. Both the Indian captain and spinner rose in the recent ICC ODI players rankings update on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

India won their third Champions Trophy championship on Sunday, defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the tournament decider in Dubai, and a number of their top players have made significant progress in the latest rankings update.

Shubman Gill remains the top ODI batter in the ICC rankings following his performance in the Champions Trophy, but Indian teammate and seasoned skipper Rohit Sharma moves up two places to third after winning Player of the Match in the final.

Rohit hammered 76 off 83 deliveries to help India win, while teammate Virat Kohli (fifth, dropping down one spot) is also among the top five ODI batters after scoring 218 runs in the competition.

Coming to the ICC bowling rankings in ODIs, India’s Kuldeep Yadav moved up three spots to third place thanks to his 7 wickets in the Champions Trophy. Ravindra Jadeja also gained three places to move to 10th following his five scalps for India during their unbeaten run at the event.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner gained 6 places to move to the second spot in the ICC bowling rankings after claiming 9 wickets in the Champions Trophy and only has Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana ahead of him on the rankings.
