The Indian T20 league commences on the 31st of March with defending champions Gujarat locking horns with Chennai. There are 10 teams divided into 2 groups. Each team will play 2 games against every team in their group and 2 games against one team in another group and only 1 game with the rest of them. Captains can name the teams after the toss and substitute a player ( impact player rule ). A total of 70 league games will be played 2 qualifiers, one eliminator, and the Final. The Home and Away schedule is back after 4 long years.

The rule allows a team to bring in an Impact Player at any point in an inning to replace a player from the XI after the toss.

Dependable Picks for Rario D3 Predictions
Batter 1 & 2- David Warner and Cameron Green 

A top-order batter should be your blind pick in D3. Warner holds the record of scoring 400+ runs in a season 7 consecutive times. Overall he has scored 8 times and last year he managed 450+ runs at an SR of 150+. The only issue is he has played only one ODI since his comeback from injury in February and that was evident in the 1st game as he scored a run a ball 50. The issue has persisted in the following games as well. He is the orange cap holder but said he will trade it for a win. 

Cameron Green was tried as an opener before the t20 wc against India and he returned with 118 runs at a whooping SR of 214. He batted at 3 in the 1st 2 games and we could expect some fireworks from him.  
 

Bowler 1 & 2- Jofra Archer and Axar Patel 

Archer was rested as a precautionary measure in the last game and he could be well back for this fixture. He is one of the most important assets to have in any  D3 team. He was the MVP in 2020. His biggest strength is his ability to extract bounce from good lengths and Delhi’s vulnerable batting lineup could have a field day facing him.

Axar has the best economy for a left-arm spinner in IPL. He has taken his batting a few levels above in the past 2 years. These all-around abilities make him a top pick from Delhi’s team. 

Last 2 picks- Tim David and Rilee Rossouw 

Tim David should be a no-brainer in D3. Tim David is arguably one of the world’s best finishers. Since 2021, he has had an SR of over 150 in almost every tournament he has played that includes BBL, PSL, IPL, and CPL. There is a reason he earned a last-minute call to the 2022 WC. He could literally feast on the listless death bowlers of DC.

It has been a tricky ride for Rossouw but he is coming on the back of some performances in the past 15 months in T20 cricket. He had stats like 46/181 in PSL, 692 runs in T20 Blast, 97 and 2 100s for SA since his comeback and another great season in PSL just 2 months ago.

Batters 1 & 2- Shane Watson (Og batter 1 ) and Ruturaj Gaikwad

Again going by the thumb rule, a top order batter should be your blind pick in D3. A top-order batter should be your blind pick in D3. OG batter 1 was the orange cap winner last year with 863 runs at an SR of 149. He hit 4 100s. He has been in superb form since the 2021 WC where he hit a 100 against SL.

Then repeated his performance against Aus before the 2022 wc and obliterated India in the semis. No one has scored more runs than him at a better SR in PP since 2018. He was our pick in the 1st game and started his season with a quickfire 20 oddball 50 and a 51 ball 79 in the 3rd. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad is coming off an incredible home season in VHT and SMAT scoring 660 runs at 113 SR and 295 runs at 146 SR respectively. He did not have a great season last year but was the orange cap winner in the season before. He displayed a scintillating act of batting in the 1st game with 92 runs and followed it up with another 50 in the 2nd match. 

Bowlers 1 & 2- Trent Boult and Ravindra Jadeja

One of the best opening bowlers to have in D3.  Boult is a specialist Powerplay bowler. He holds the record for most wkts in a Powerplay in a season (16 in 2020). Since 2020 he has had the highest wkts in PP. He displayed a scintillating work of art against SRH’s top order by dismissing Abhishek and Rahul in the 1st over itself and repeated his performance again against Delhi Capitals. 

It's unsure what combination CSK will field given injuries to Stokes, Moeen, and the return of Theekshana who was their star bowler last season. Jadeja was a top pick in the last match and with Santner’s place unsure he is the go-to bowler to have on your side. 

Last 2 picks- Shimron Hetmyer and Devon Conway

This Carribean Southpaw is a must-pick in your D3. Hetmyer is one of the best finishers in T20 cricket at the moment. No has hit more sixes and scored more runs than him at a better SR in death overs since the 2020 season.

Not a bad punt take on Devon Conway, another top-order pick. If Moeen is playing he will walk straight to D3. He took 4 wkts against LSG and turned the match in CSK’s favor.
