IND v SL 2023: BCCI announces Team India squad for upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka

The three-match ODI series is slated to get underway on January 10 in Guwahati.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian ODI team against Sri Lanka | GettyThe BCCI selection committee on Tuesday (December 27) announced Team India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at home.

While the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul won’t feature in three T20Is, they have been picked in the ODI squad.

For the ODI series, Shikhar Dhawan has been axed from the squad, which features Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shreyas Iyer as batters. Ishan Kishan is the designated wicketkeeper in the squad besides Rahul.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been appointed as captain Rohit’s deputy for the 50-over series while Rishabh Pant is a notable exclusion from the squad.

Akshar Patel and Washington Sundar are the spin-bowling all-rounders in the squad while Kuldeep Yadav is there as a premier spinner.

Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik, and Arshdeep Singh are India’s pace-bowling options for the ODI series.

The ODI series is slated to get underway on January 10 in Guwahati. Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram will host the second and third games on January 12 and January 15, respectively.
