“Thanks kids”: Amit Mishra gives fitting reply to Barmy Army’s controversial tweet on Tendulkar’s b’day

In total, he scored 34357 runs in international cricket for India in 664 appearances, including 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries. He's also the first player in history to have 100 international centuries. Tendulkar was a core member of the Indian side that won the World Cup in 2011 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

In 2013, he retired from all formats of the game but continues to be loved by the cricket fraternity. On Sunday (April 24), current and former cricketers and millions of fans poured wishes to the legendary batter. However, there was one Twitter post that enraged fans, and it was England fan group Barmy Army's wish.

Barmy Army posted an image of Tendulkar, in which the England cricket team players were seen celebrating his dismissal. The tweet received flak from the fans and followers of Indian cricket. Veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra also joined the list of supporters and responded appropriately to the post.

The 39-year-old, who has three hat-tricks in the IPL, shared a collage of Tendulkar's career highlights, which he achieved against England, and captioned the picture on Tendulkar's behalf: "Thanks kids."

Sachin has amassed 1575 runs against England in 17 Tests at an average of more than 50 and 1051 runs in 26 ODIs at almost 44 apiece. He is currently the mentor of the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
