New Zealand are battling some injury issues ahead of the second Test against England, scheduled to get underway on Thursday (June 10) at Edgbaston.
Kiwi head coach Gary Stead on Tuesday (June 8) said that skipper Kane Williamson's left elbow injury is being monitored and a decision on his availability will be taken on Wednesday.

The coach also informed that spinner Mitchell Santner has been ruled out of the second Test due to a cut he suffered on his left index finger while playing the first Test.
"Gary Stead update, Birmingham, pace bowlers from Lord's will not all play 2nd Test, Trent Boult available and likely to return, Mitch Santner ruled out with his cut left index finger, Kane Williamson's left elbow injury being monitored and a decision to be made tomorrow," the official handle of BlackCaps tweeted.
Left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult, who was unavailable for the opening Test, is set to return to action at Edgbaston.
In the first Test, which ended in a draw at Lord’s, the visitors had fielded Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, Kyle Jamieson and Colin de Grandhomme as pacers. Stead has also confirmed that all these players will not be taking part in the second Test against England.
After the two-Test series against England, New Zealand will take on India in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, starting June 18 in Southampton.
