Former England Test specialist Nick Compton wasn’t really pleased with the “ridiculous” treatment given to Alex Hales, questioning the national management and selectors whether the “rules are different” for each player while mentioning Ben Stokes after the former was again axed from the 55-man training squad.
Hales has been sidelined since being axed from England's World Cup 2019 squad last May for testing positive for recreational drugs just before the showpiece event at home last year.

Since then, the Nottinghamshire batsman has featured in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Big Bash League (BBL), and Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and maintained his rhythm.
However, the 31-year-old was hoping to return to England squad after serving an year on the sidelines for his mistake, but yet again he was left out from England's back-to-training mammoth 55-man training squad announced on Friday (May 29) – which left Compton surprised.
Compton took to Twitter on Friday to express his disappointment at Hales’ omission while saying the right-hander should have been given a chance to redeem himself since he was keen to put his mistakes behind to return to international cricket.

Questioning England’s treatment of Hales, the former batsman said the opener is being treated in a ‘ridiculous’ manner while reminding the national management about Stokes’ brawl outside the Bristol night club incident in 2018, as the all-rounder returned to the squad after serving his punishment.
Compton wrote on Twitter: “I find the Hales treatment ridiculous. I spent a month in the Caribbean with him (cpl) and he was keen to put his mistakes to bed. Some might say the leadership have got a bit ahead of themselves. Stokes made a pretty bad error some time ago, were the rules different then?!”
