Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a four-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 33 of the IPL 2025 season at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (April 17).
Asked to bat first, SRH’s dynamic batting line-up managed to post 162/6 in 20 overs on a tricky Wankhede pitch. Abhishek Sharma was the top scorer with 40 off 28 balls.
Will Jacks (2-14 in 3 overs), Jasprit Bumrah (1-21 in 4 overs) and Trent Boult (1-29 in 4 overs) and Hardik Pandya (1-42 in 4 overs) were among the wickets for the home team.
In reply, MI overhauled the target with 11 deliveries to spare, with key contributions from Jacks (36 off 26) and Ryan Rickelton (31 off 23). The likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and skipper Hardik also chipped in with handy 20s.
This was MI’s third win in seven matches in the IPL 2025. They five-time champions are still reeling in the bottom half of the 10-team points table, holding the seven spot. However, this victory will boost their confidence as they aim to secure a spot in the playoffs.
