MS Dhoni had an amazing game as he performed well during the 30th IPL 2025 match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Lucknow.
MS Dhoni won the toss and declared that CSK would bowl first. Rishabh Pant stormed into form, scoring 63 runs (4 fours and four sixes), while Mitchell Marsh (30), Ayush Badoni, and Abdul Samad helped LSG reach 166/7 through 20 overs. CSK's Ravindra Jadeja and Matheesha Pathirana each took two wickets.
In response, CSK had a 52-run partnership between Rachin Ravindra (27) and Shaikh Rasheed (37). But Avesh Khan and Aiden Markram got rid of them in succession, and then Ravi Bishnoi accounted for Rahul Tripathi and Ravindra Jadeja for single-digit scores. Vijay Shankar also managed just 9 runs before his dismissal.
But Shivam Dube, with 43* in 37 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes, added 57 unbeaten runs for the 6th wicket with MS Dhoni to see CSK through. The veteran CSK captain made 26* with 4 fours and 1 six as CSK won the game by 5 wickets in the last over. MS Dhoni was also named the Player of the Match.
This was CSK’s first win after 5 losses on a trot and second win in 7 games overall.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for CSK’s spirit and lauded Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni for their knocks.
