MS Dhoni continued to amaze as a wicketkeeper, as the 43-year-old performed admirably during the 30th IPL 2025 encounter between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Lucknow.
MS Dhoni won the toss and decided that CSK would bowl first. Rishabh Pant exploded into form, scoring 63 runs (4 fours and four sixes), while Mitchell Marsh (30), Ayush Badoni, and Abdul Samad helped LSG reach 166/7 after 20 overs.
CSK's Ravindra Jadeja and Matheesha Pathirana each claimed two wickets.
MS Dhoni performed some magic in the final over of LSG's innings, utterly taking Samad by surprise.
Matheesha Pathirana bowled a leg-side wide, and Rishabh Pant sent his teammate Samad through for a quick single.
Dhoni showed his intelligence as he targeted the non-striker's end. He flung the ball gently to the bowler's end, and it landed right on target. The right-hander was a little slow to respond, and as a result, he was discovered inches short of his crease. Samad walked back to the hut after scoring 20 runs off 11 balls.
