The 25th match of the IPL 2025 saw the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) getting annihilated by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their own home on Chepauk on April 11, 2025. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bowl first.
The decision proved to be a master stroke as KKR bowlers took full advantage of the two-paced pitch and bowled out CSK for 103 runs. Shivam Dube (31*) and Vijay Shankar (29) were the top-scorers for CSK, while Sunil Narine picked 3 wickets and Harshit Rana and Varun took 2 wickets apiece.
In response, KKR openers added 46 runs in 4 overs, with Quinton de Kock making 23, and Sunil Narine made 44 in 18 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. Rinku Singh made 15* and Ajinkya Rahane made 20*. They finished the game for KKR, who made 107/2 in 10.1 overs.
KKR won the match by 8 wickets and improved their NRR from negative to positive.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for KKR team for their dominating win, but also marveled at the way CSK surrendered, in front of their home crowd.
