Senior India batter and Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan shared an emotional post on social media about his son Zoraver. Dhawan is currently participating in the IPL 2024 but has been ruled out of action for some time due to a shoulder injury.
PBKS are 7th on the IPL 2024 points table with 2 wins from 6 matches. Dhawan missed the last match due to a shoulder issue and Sam Curran captained the side in the loss to Rajasthan Royals at home on Mullanpur. PBKS is next slated to clash with Mumbai Indians, also at home, on April 18, Thursday.
Meanwhile, Dhawan shared an emotional post on Instagram with a PBKS jersey with his son Zoraver’s name on it and the shirt was numbered 1. He also wore the jersey with his son's name on it.

Notably, Shikhar Dhawan has not seen or talked to his son Zoraver for a long time. This is because he stays with Dhawan’s ex-wife Ayesha Mukherji and is an Australian citizen by birth. Dhawan tied the knot with Aesha, who had two daughters from her first marriage, in 2012. However, the two went separate ways in 2021 following an unsuccessful marriage.
The court granted Dhawan divorce on grounds of "cruelty" inflicted on the cricketer by his estranged wife. The court also granted Dhawan mandatory visitation rights to meet his son in India and Australia, including overnight stays with his family, mainly during school holidays.
But Dhawan has revealed that he continues to face challenges meeting his son. Dhawan even claimed that he has been blocked from all virtual platforms through which he could connect to his son.
