Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni treated the fans with his blistering cameo against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday (April 14).
Dhoni, who came out to bat at No. 6 during the final over, opened his account with a first-ball six off Hardik Pandya. It was a slower delivery around off and Dhoni smashed it over long-off for a maximum.
The MI captain’s next two deliveries also got the same treatment as Thala completed a hat-trick of sixes. While Dhoni pummeled the second ball he faced over wide long-on to accumulate six more runs, the third delivery, a low full toss, was flicked over deep square leg for a maximum.
In the final delivery of the innings, MS Dhoni managed to score a couple of runs to return with 20 not out off 4 balls. Thanks to his cameo, CSK racked up a mammoth 206/4 in their allotted 20 overs.
Here’s the video of MS Dhoni’s three sixes:
Earlier, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played a brilliant knock of 40-ball 69 to lay the foundation of a huge total. All-rounder Shivam Dube also made the most of his stunning form as he slammed 66* off 38 balls.
Jasprit Bumrah once again starred with the ball for MI, returning with the economical figures of 0/27 in his four overs amid the carnage.
