The 28th match of the IPL 2024 saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 14. KKR captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. Shamar Joseph made his IPL debut for LSG.
Nicholas Pooran top-scored with 45 for LSG, while captain KL Rahul made 39 and Ayush Badoni made 29 runs as LSG posted 161/7 in 20 overs. Mitchell Starc with 3/28 was the pick of the KKR bowlers.
In response, Phil Salt led the way with an unbeaten 89* with 14 fours and 3 sixes. Though KKR lost quick wickets of Sunil Narine (6) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (7), captain Shreyas Iyer scored 38* with 6 fours as KKR won by 8 wickets and with 26 balls to spare in the match.

With this win, KKR solidified their spot at no.2 on the IPL 2024 points table with 8 points to their name. they now have 4 wins from 5 games. LSG, on the other hand, is in the 5th spot with 3 losses and 3 wins from 6 matches and 6 points to their name.
