Ahead of the IPL 2024 season, star batter Rohit Sharma was replaced by all-rounder Hardik Pandya as the new captain of the Mumbai Indian (MI).
It has been speculated lately that Rohit might part ways with MI, whom he led to five IPL titles in his 11-year stint as skipper.
Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu recently teased the idea of Rohit moving to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and ending his IPL career in yellow. Moreover, there have been increasing rumours that Rohit will probably join the Delhi Capitals after he was seen having a chat with Parth Jindal, the DC co-owner, prior to the MI versus DC match.
Amid the speculations, LSG head coach Justin Langer has reacted hilariously upon hearing the idea of getting Rohit Sharma on board.
Speaking to LSG, Langer was asked to name one player whom he would like to rope in and the coach could not keep clam when Rohit's name was floated.
"One guys I want? Hmmm… if I could have anyone…. who do you think?" Langer asked the interviewer.
To which, the interviewer replied: "We have most of our bases covered. But do you think you can get Rohit Sharma?", leaving Langer in splits.
"Rohit Sharma? Hahaha. We're going to get him from Mumbai… Well, you better be the negotiator," Langer said.

In the ongoing IPL, Rohit Sharma has registered scores of 43, 26, 0 and 49 from four innings.
On the other hand, MI’s campaign hasn’t got off to the best of starts under the new captain Hardik Pandya. The five-time champions have lost three out of their four matches and they currently hold the eighth spot in the team standings.
Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians will be next seen in action against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (April 11).
