Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered their third successive defeat in the ongoing IPL 2024 season, after losing by 6 wickets to Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium on Monday (April 1).

MI captain Hardik Pandya was booed at the toss by the local Mumbai fans, just like he was in the previous two away matches which the team played in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.

The captaincy switchover from Rohit Sharma to Hardik hasn't gone well with the fans of the 5-time IPL winning captain who have taken to social media and all three venues to express their resentment with the decision. Hardik, who was traded from Gujarat Titans has been targeted heavily and what's not helped him or the franchise has been their ordinary show so far.

MI suffered their third consecutive defeat in the ongoing season and lie last on the points table. Hardik top-scored with 34 in MI's paltry total of 125/9, while he didn't bowl as RR chased down the target for the loss of 4 wickets in the 16th over.

During the course of the RR innings, Hardik was again booed multiple times which prompted Rohit Sharma to try and ask the fans to stop the booing as claimed by X users. A viral video is also doing the rounds where Rohit can be seen gesturing towards a section of the crowd.
