Shardul Thakur and Prithvi Shaw | BCCI-IPLThe trade window for IPL 2024 is set to end on Sunday (November 26) with quite a few surprising moves, retains, and releases on the cards.

According to The Indian Express report, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have freed up a purse worth INR 10.75 crore by releasing all-rounder Shardul Thakur.

Thakur endured a dismal IPL 2023 campaign for KKR as he scored only 113 runs with the bat from 11 innings and claimed only seven wickets in the tournament.

KKR with INR 10.75 crore and another INR 5 crore in addition will have enough funds to purchase new talents from the market.

The report also claims that Delhi Capitals (DC) have decided to retain their swashbuckling opener Prithvi Shaw even though the right-handed opener was far from impressive last season.

Shaw scored 106 runs from eight innings at an abysmal average of 13.25 and a strike rate of 124.70, including one half-century.

Prithvi is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a knee injury he picked up during his stint at County club Northamptonshire. He has missed out on the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy due to his recovery.
