Rohit Sharma's six against Naveen-ul-Haq | ScreengrabEarlier this month, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Naveen-ul-Haq and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli were involved in a heated altercation during an IPL game.

Since that clash, Naveen was out of action. While he was picked for the CSK clash a couple of days later, the match got abandoned due to rain.

On his return to action against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday (May 16), Naveen endured a tough time as he didn’t claim a wicket and was smashed for 37 runs in his four overs.

Moreover, Naveen-ul-Haq was teased by the fans when LSG skipper Krunal Pandya gave him the new ball. The Afghanistan quick conceded 16 runs in two overs he bowled in the powerplay, with Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma hitting for a boundary and a six respectively.

However, the highlight of the powerplay was when Naveen came into the attack, the crowd broke into "Kohli, Kohli" chants. In his second over, Rohit smashed Naveen for a six over square leg after the repeated ‘Kohli’ chants.

Here’s the video:

Talking about the Kohli-Naveen altercation on May 1, the duo engaged in a war of words during the 17th over of LSG’s chase. The on-field aggression then spilled over to the post-match handshakes as they had another verbal spat.

The ugly spat created quite a stir in the cricket fraternity and both the players were reprimanded by the match referee. While Kohli was fined 100% of his match fees for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct, Naveen copped a 50 percent fine.
