The 61st match of the IPL 2022 will see Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clashing with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 14, at the MCA stadium in Pune. KKR have 5 wins and 10 points from 12 matches, while SRH have 5 wins from 11 matches.

KKR needs to win to remain in contention for the playoffs, and SRH have to do the same, though they have an extra match in hand when compared with KKR. A loss for either team in this crunch match could end their dreams of playoffs qualification.

Keeping this in mind, here is the COC predicted playing XIs for the KKR v SRH match.

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS

KKR have been in inconsistent form the whole IPL 2022 and though much was expected from them, the constant chopping and changing of the playing XI from one match to another have led to them gasping for air as they try to remain in contention for playoffs.

Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane came good as openers in the last match and expect them to continue against SRH as well. Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, and Rinku Singh have formed a formidable middle order with Andre Russell providing the muscle.

IPL 2022: Pat Cummins ruled out of remainder of the season due to hip injury - Report

KKR | BCCI-IPLSam Billings might come in for Sheldon Jackson as the keeper with Umesh Yadav might replace Pat Cummins.

Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, along with Tim Southee may form the remainder of the bowling attack.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the KKR in their previous meeting and will hope to so do once again as they need to win all their remaining three matches to gain 6 points and add them to their 10 and make it into the playoffs.

After winning five matches on a trot, SRH has lost four consecutive encounters and though Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, and Aiden Markram have done well at the top, Kane Williamson has failed to come good this season with the bat.

Nicholas Pooran has tried his best to be the finisher for the team, while Shashank Singh hasn’t got many chances to shine. Washington Sundar might come back into the XI, replacing J Suchith, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar might find T Natarajan back in the bowling unit.

IPL 2022: Umran Malik not “ready” for Indian team- Aakash Chopra; Bishop, Vettori counter his views

SRH | BCCI-IPLAlso expected back is Marco Jansen, as Fazalhaq Farooqui didn’t have the best of the debuts for SRH in IPL, while Umran Malik is expected to wow once more with the ball and win this important match for his team.
