Delhi Capitals (DC) registered a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 58 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 to keep their campaign alive.
Asked to bat first, RR posted 160/6 in their 20 overs with vital contributions from R Ashwin (50 off 38 balls) and Devdutt Padikkal (48 off 30 balls).
Chetan Sakariya was the stand-out bowler for the Capitals, claiming two wickets by conceding only 23 runs in his four overs. Mitchell Marsh (2-25) and Anrich Nortje (2-39) also picked a couple of scalps.
In reply, DC lost Srikar Bharat for a two-ball duck but the duo of David Warner and Marsh added 144 runs for the second wicket to put the team on the brink of victory.
While Marsh got out after scoring 89 off 62 balls (5 fours and 7 sixes), Warner held the one end firmly. The southpaw stayed unbeaten on 52 off 41 balls and took the Delhi Capitals over the line alongside skipper Rishabh Pant (13* off 4 balls) with 11 deliveries to spare.
