IPL 2022: Match 50, DC v SRH – COC Predicted Playing XIs

Brabourne Stadium will host the match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Both teams have suffered defeats in their last game | BCCI/IPLThe 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will see Delhi Capitals (DC) taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday (May 5).

Both the teams are coming into this with a defeat in their last outings. While DC had suffered a 6-run defeat at the hands of LSG, SRH had lost to CSK by 13 runs.

The two sides will look to bounce back when they will lock horns with each other at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Ahead of the game, Team COC presents to you the Predicted playing XIs of Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

DC have won 4 out of their 9 games so far | BCCI/IPLPrithvi Shaw and David Warner have regularly provided blazing starts to DC and the duo should open the innings against SRH.

All-rounder Mitchell Marsh batted with intent for his 20-ball 37 in Delhi’s last clash against LSG and he is likely to retain the No. 3 spot, followed by skipper Rishabh Pant and power hitters Lalit Yadav and Rovman Powell.

Although Akshar Patel and Shardul Thakur are known for their bowling exploits, they are more than handy with the bat in the lower order and the pair should hold the No. 7 and No. 8 positions, respectively.

Wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is among the highest wicket takers in the ongoing IPL and he is a certain starter in the playing XI. For the pace department, DC might bring the fit-again Anrich Nortje in place of Mustafizur Rahman and young left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya will spearhead the attack alongside him.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

SRH have won 5 out of their 9 games so far | BCCI/IPLAfter winning five games in a row, SRH suffered two successive defeats but they are still among the favourites to qualify for the playoffs with 5 victories from 9 outings.

Sunrisers are unlikely to make wholesale changes to their playing XI despite the two back-to-back defeats. Skipper Kane Williamson and the young Abhishek Sharma should hold the opening positions as they have been consistent throughout.

Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram have performed brilliantly in SRH’s wins and they are likely to continue batting at No. 3 and No. 4 slots, respectively.

Wicketkeeper batter Nicholas Pooran will bat at No. 5, followed by Shashank Singh. Since Washington Sundar re-injured his bowling hand in the match against CSK, he is unlikely to feature versus DC and Jagadeesha Suchith is expected to take his place.

SRH’s pace department has grabbed the headlines in the ongoing IPL. They have a variety in their attack and won’t disrupt the combination doing well for them. Fast bowlers with international experience such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Marco Jansen will feature in the attack alongside the uncapped pace sensation Umran Malik.
