Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Ishan Kishan saw himself falling to his knees after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Mukesh Choudhary clean bowled him with a peach of delivery during their encounter in the 33rd match of the IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium on April 21, 2022.
CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and chose to bowl first. CSK dropped Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan to bring in Mitchell Santner and Dwaine Pretorius, while MI included Daniel Sams, Riley Meredith and Hrithik Shokeen.
This is an extremely important match for both MI and CSK, who languish at the bottom of the IPL 2022 points table with MI not having won even a single match, while CSK has 2 points in the bank.
Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah named among Wisden's five cricketers of the year
However, MI’s hopes of a good start were shattered as Rohit Sharma was out caught off Mukesh Choudhary on the second ball of the match and things got even worst when Ishan Kishan was clean bowled in the same over with one of the best balls of this tournament.
Choudhary bowled a full delivery that pitched on middle and swung out, while Kishan played the wrong line and saw his off-stump going for a walk, and then he fell on his knees getting off-balance in the process.
Kishan has not been able to come good after his knock of 81 and 54 in the MI’s opening two matches of the tournament, but since then has scores of 14 v KKR, 26 vs RCB, 3 vs PBKS, 13 vs LSG and now a duck against CSK.
