IPL 2022: WATCH: ‘Awaaz badhao yaar!’ A visibly frustrated Rohit Sharma lashes out at stadium staff

Sharma was left angry after MI lost their third straight match thanks to brilliance of Pat Cummins.

Pat Cummins slammed 56* runs in 15 balls including a record equaling 14-ball fifty | BCCI-IPLMumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma was visibly frustrated at the after-match talk with the commentators after his side suffered its third consecutive loss in the IPL 2022 tournament. This time, they were robbed of a win by Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) Pat Cummins’ brilliance with the bat.

KKR and MI clashed at Pune in the 14th match of the tournament. The Rohit Sharma-led side batted first after Shreyas Iyer won the toss and put up 161/4 thanks to a fifty from Suryakumar Yadav and some valuable runs from Tilak Varma (38*) and Kieron Pollard (22* off 5 balls).

MI seemed to be on track to win their first match of the tournament as they reduced KKR to 101/5 in 13.1 overs with Venkatesh Iyer struggling to get his timing right. In walked Pat Cummins, who was playing his first match, and completely demolished the MI bowling attack.

He slammed 6 sixes and 4 fours in his 15-ball 56* run knock and took 35 runs in one over of Daniel Sams, hitting him for 2 fours and 4 sixes in the over, finishing the match with 4 overs spare and KKR having 5 wickets in hand.

IPL 2022: “Extraordinary!” Shreyas Iyer lauds Pat Cummins' heroics against MI

Rohit Sharma looked visibly angry at the outcome of the match and was seen lashing out at technician from the stadium staff for keeping the volume of the sound controls low and asking them to increase it in an irritated tone.

On live TV, Rohit was heard as saying: “aawaz badhao yaar uska”.

Here is the video:

Speaking of the match, Rohit was honest to admit that he didn't expect Pat Cummins to bat in the manner he did. Cummins reached his fifty in 14 balls, equalling the record of the fastest fifty in IPL, held by KL Rahul.

Never expected him to come and play like that [on Cummins]. Lot of credit. The pitch got better and better to bat as the game went on. It was holding up initially. Overall it was a good pitch. With the bat we did not start well, in the last 4-5 overs to get 70+ was a great effort from the batting unit. We did not bowl according to the plan. We had the game till the 15th over, but then Cummins was brilliant,” said Rohit.
