The 14th match of the IPL 2022 will see Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) in the MCA Stadium in Pune on April 6, 2022. KKR is second on the points table with 2 wins from 3 games, while MI is yet to open its account after two matches.
KKR have found their best playing combination and the captaincy of Iyer has been nothing short of brilliant, even against RCB, where they almost defended a small total. On the other hand, MI has been simply hampered by a weak bowling attack and a lack of an experienced spinner.

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS
KKR batting has been one of the strongest ones with Venkatesh Iyer being complemented at the top by Ajinkya Rahane. Captain Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana have also been brilliant both in upping the ante when needed, or stabilizing if they lost a few early wickets.
With Pat Cummins becoming available, expected him to come into the playing XI possibly in place of Sam Billings. Sheldon Jackson may return to the XI in place of Shivam Mavi. This is due to the terrific bowling form of Tim Southee, who has partnered well with Umesh Yadav with the new ball.
Cummins’ arrival will also lessen the burden of bowling on Andre Russell, who has been struggling a bit with his fitness. Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy have been nothing short of brilliant when it comes to taking wickets or stemming the flow of runs in middle overs.
MUMBAI INDIANS
Mumbai Indians have been having trouble with their bowling department while their batting has done justice to their reputation. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, along with Tilak Varma have been doing amazingly well at the top.
And now with Suryakumar Yadav becoming available for selection, expect more explosiveness with the willow. However, Kieron Pollard and Tim David need to bolster and amplify those totals to a very good level.
While Jasprit Bumrah has been terrific, he has not received the same kind of support and Tymal Mills needs to step up a bit. Daniel Sams might also make way for Jaydev Unadkat who is experienced and a handy bowler on slow surfaces.
With the game being played in Pune, MI might think of bringing in Fabien Allen, to bolster their weak spin resources and also strengthen their batting. M Ashwin requires some support at the other end to be effective and Allen might give him that.
