The second match of the IPL 2022 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Brabourne Stadium on March 27, 2022, in the first encounter of the doubleheader day.

Both the teams gave a bunch of debuts given that they had a lot of new faces in the squad after the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) auction. For Mumbai Indians, Tilak Varma, Tymal Mills, Daniel Sams, Tim David, and Basil Thampi made their debuts.

On the other hand for the Delhi Capitals, Tim Seifert, Rovman Powell, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti made their debuts for the franchise. For the lack of availability of foreign players, DC fielded just two overseas players in their XI.

Rohit Sharma (41) added 67 runs with Ishan Kishan for the opening wicket. However, Kuldeep Yadav ended his innings and then also removed Anmolpreet Singh for 8. Kishan then added a few runs with Tilak Varma who made 22.

The pick of bowlers from Delhi Capitals proved to be Kuldeep Yadav, who was back to his best using all his skills with the ball and picked 3/18 in 4 overs. He looked confident with the ball and after a couple of dull years in the IPL, the left-arm wrist-spinner was back to being his best.

The cricket fraternity was also all praises for Kuldeep Yadav’s guile and skills and whole-heartedly lauded him on Twitter.
